29 CFR 1910.147(d) · running
Steps (d)(1) to (d)(6) of 29 CFR 1910.147 are done in sequence. Locks go on once every isolating device is operated, and stored energy is relieved once the locks are on. The gauge counts the stores still charged and is not a measurement. A device that cannot be locked out gets a tag instead, (c)(2)(i). The employer must also inspect the energy control procedure at least annually, (c)(6)(i). The section does not cover construction or agriculture, (a)(1)(ii)(A). An illustration of the order only, not a procedure for any real machine.
